Private taxi service is a very popular form of income among the population. In some cities, entire networks of official taxi services, concluding contracts with drivers, can prevail and develop, and in others, private taxi drivers who work as a taxi driver both legally and illegally. By registering an IE you notify the state revenue authority of the commencement of activities as an individual entrepreneur.
The next step you need to notify the local executive body (akimat) about the start of activities as a taxi carrier (according to Article 26 of the Law On Road Transport). You can also send a notification online using the online services of the e-licensing portal. No documents other than the availability of EDS are required of you.
At the same time, in accordance with the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 27, 2018 No. 1029, taxi operations from April 1, 2019 will require the availability of cash registers with the function of fixation and (or) data transfer for cash settlements. That is, the taxi driver's car must be equipped with a cash register for issuing fiscal checks to passengers.
In the future, road police will carry out road raids to identify illegal cab drivers and bring them to administrative responsibility.
According to Article 463 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan, engaging in entrepreneurial activities without a proper registration entails a fine of 15 MCI for individuals if a repeated violation occurs - 30 MCI with confiscation of the car during the year.
