Laura Manley, representative of American company “Center for Open Data Enterprise” has published information in its blog concerning roundtable discussions on Open Data for private sector that took place in Astana.
In April 2015, National Information Technologies JSC together with American company “Center for Open Data Enterprise” organized roundtable discussions devoted to “Open Data for private sector”.
As Center for Open Data Enterprise announces in its blog, the company has executed quite a number of such roundtable discussions around the world. The US is one of the leading countries in Open Data development. The US Open Data Portal has more than 140 thousand data sets and a great number of applications are developed.
On the way to such results more than one roundtable discussions were executed both with representatives of government agencies and private sector. Experts in the field of Open Data from Center for Open Data Enterprise help a lot of countries in execution of a dialog with private sector to help them determine the value of government agencies` data that presents commercial value. Besides, the objective of such events is to find solutions to ensure that data is reliable, complete, easy-to-use and is constantly updated.
“It was the first time that roundtable discussions with representatives of private sector on Open Data took place in Astana. As it was mentioned by Richard Kerby, the UN Interregional Councilor from Department of Economic and Social Affairs, “Kazakhstan is on its way to Open Data reliable platform implementation, taking into account citizens` and entrepreneurs’ opinions”, the statement by Center for Open Data Enterprise said.
