Student's time - for many people is the most important period of life. Further professional way depends on the choice of profession, place of practical training, acquired skills.

To find a job being a student – is not an easy task. The labor market situation is that employers are not interested in employment of non-professionals. However, there is a solution from such situation: government implements a variety of programs to support young employees, students can participate in international programs (such as Work and Travel) or already now be on probation of their future workplace.

Work for students during summer holidays

State support for young workers. The "El Zhasyl"

What to do during summer vacation? For those who wishes to combine business with pleasure the best solution will be to participate in the state program "Zhasyl El”, where you can earn money, get new acquaintances and help ecology of your area.
 

Since 2005, by the initiative of the head of state the program "Zhasyl El" has been launched, it provides an opportunity for young people to work during the summer vacation in student detachments in different directions: construction, landscaping settlements (tree planting, weeding, sanitary clean up forests, reservoirs, etc.), improvement of the city. The program in recent years has established itself as one of the most active student formations. Today, there are more than 200 thousand of "Zhasyl el" participants. Movement acts for thirteen years in fourteen areas of the republic.

Realization of program and, in general, the work of student teams is supervised by the Republican staff of youth groups that are open to every region under the Offices for youth policy matters.

If you have decided to be one of the "green participants", please contact the staff of student groups in your city, taking with you all necessary documents for the contract. The attraction and comfort of this program is that you do not have to pass an interview upon the employment. Experience of participation in " Zhasyl El " is particularly useful for future environmentalists, builders and engineers. Republican headquarter as your employer for the work duration will sign an employment contract with you, provide special clothing for work and, if necessary, transportation. Speaking of salary, depending on the amount of work it ranges from 30 000 to 150 000 KZT .

Documents required for conclusion of employment agreement:

• Identity card;
• contract from the pension fund;
• personal account (in JSC "KazPost" or in a bank);
• health certificate, form 086;
• photo 3×4 (2 pcs.)
• written consent for the employment from the parents if the student is under 18 years.

Community service

Public works are organized by employment centers to provide temporary employment for the unemployed. They do not require prior professional training of an employee and are financed within the limits of the local budget and the funds of employers at their request.

The right to participate in public works have:
1. Unemployed.
2. Students and high school students of secondary schools in their free time in work that does not cause harm to health and does not violate the learning process.
3. Persons who are not provided with work due to downtime.

International programs

USA.  American program «Work and Travel» is designed for students during summer vacation.

The purpose of program - to give an opportunity to Kazakhstan students to get acquainted with the culture of the United States of America, to raise the level of knowledge of the language, to travel around the country and more importantly- earn money.

Work and Travel – is a program for students that allows you to work legally in the United States in the sphere of services: restaurants, hotels, entertainment parks, shops, etc. There are two types of program organization.

Kazakhstan agency helps to find a job. In this position one must work all summer.

Student finds an employer by himself. This is possible, if the student has already worked in U.S. and he kept contact with his former employer. In this case, the preparation of documents necessarily required to provide to the agency the contract of the employer, who will accept the student for the whole summer period.  

Requirements for participation in program:

• age - 18-28 y.o.;
• form of participant's education in his institution - full time, evening;
• foreign language knowledge - basic English;

Duration of stay in the United States is 3-4 months, depending on the date of departure. The main condition – is to come back to Kazakhstan no later than October 1.
To participate in the program one must apply to special agencies which have been registered and can provide professional assistance while applying.

Camp&Travel in the USA

Annually thousands of students from all over the world, including Kazakhstan, go to get work experience to the American camps. The international exchange cultural program Camp&Travel offers a work experience in a summer camp in the US for at least 9 weeks. The participant can choose for himself one of the two positions in the American camp - the counselor or the service staff. The counselor takes most of the time with the children, teaching them various skills (mostly sports), and also participates in various activities and games. The service staff provide the functionality of the camp, performing their duties in the laundry, in the kitchen, in the dining room, etc.

Undergraduate and graduate students of full-time departments of higher education institutions of the age 18-28, as well as teachers up to the age of 28 (only for the position of counselor) can take part in the program . Knowledge of English is a must!

You are a suitable candidate for the Camp&Travel USA program if:

• Are you sociable and cheerful, responsible, hardworking and executive person?
• Are you a full-time student or a young teacher aged 18-28?
• Do you speak fluent English?
• Are you ready to be in camp for at least nine weeks from the end of May to the end of August?
• Do you genuinely like working with children?

Work in South Africa 

Working vacations in the most sunny and exotic country – South Africa. Under the terms of the program, you can find a job in the service industry (for example, in a hotel, restaurant, store) or in any other area of interest to you.

Requirements:

• Program for students and graduates who received a diploma no more than six months ago.
• English at a conversational level.
• Age - up to 25 years.

The duration of the program is from 2 to 12 months. Registration of documents takes approximately 3 months.

Cost of the program:

You can choose one of three options for the program:

• 1150 $ – transfer, orientation session, one week accommodation in the hostel and excursions;
• 990 $ – transfer, orientation session, two-day accommodation in the hostel and excursions;
• 790 $ – transfer, orientation session, two-day accommodation in the hostel;

The price includes:

• Transfer.
• Orientation session.
• Accommodation in the hostel (from 2 to 7 days depending on the chosen variant of the program).

Additional charges:

• Air ticket.
• Medical insurance.
• Permanent residence.

Work in France

The Work in France program is work in Paris, on the Cote d'Azur or at the ski resorts of the Alps. Work in France for students on this program is possible in hotels, restaurants, recreation parks, in retail trade. 

Requirements:

This is a program of work in France for students and graduates who know French at a conversational level (knowledge of English is a big plus). Age - from 18 to 30.

Submission of documents – at least 2 months before the desired start date of the program. Duration of the program: up to 4 months.

Cost of the program:

• 1060 - 1090 € (with help in finding the employer).
• The Self-Arranged program costs 630 €.

First payment – 300 €

The price includes:

• Help in finding work in France.
• Support of the sponsor of the program.

Additional charges:

• Air ticket.
• Medical insurance (13 € per week).
• Accommodation (if it is not provided by the employer). In the Self-Arranged variant, the participant finds the employer himself, before leaving for France.
• Meal.
