Mobile Government’s capabilities were demonstrated at the Global e-Government Forum which is held these days in Astana.
Vice Minister of Investments and Development Askar Zhumagaliyev demonstrated the capability of obtaining public services via mobile phones that do not have Internet access.
A.Zhumagaliyev informed that this year, in addition to automation of all permission documents, Ministry started migration to mobile government which constitutes the next stage in e-Government development. “We want public services to be even more accessible. Obtainment of services will be possible even on the simplest cell phones models, through SMS”.
The first mobile government services will be launched as early as next year.
To become a user of mobile government, you will need to associate your phone number with your account on e-Government portal. Today already, you may do that via egov.kz, and in a short time also via Citizen Service Centers.
Note also that users will be able to receive to their mobile phones the messages of notifying and warning nature, for instance, about preparedness of documents in CSC, about change of position in waiting list for kindergarten, etc.
A.Zhumagaliyev also reported that currently, the possibility of obtaining a number of public services without digital signature, using one-time password is being considered.
