March 12, 2015Today in Petropavlovsk, the National Information Technologies JSC’s Data Center was commissioned to operation. North Kazakhstan region’s government agencies will be able to place server hardware in it.
The Data Center is an infrastructure platform for the Republic of Kazakhstan’s e-Government at regional level, with backup to all vital engineering systems. This contemplates Data Center operation 24х7х365, operational continuity and resiliency of software/hardware systems at a rate of 99.749%, protection of hardware and customer data against unauthorized access and physical damages.
According to По словам CEO of National Information Technologies JSC Ruslan Yensebayev, the Data Center was launched as part of implementation of “Information Kazakhstan – 2020” Program and National Program for Boosted Industrial/Innovation-based development . “To date, the project has been implemented in 13 regions countrywide. It will become an infrastructure platform for further developing the e-Government Program in Kazakhstan. By the year-end, a Data Center will emerge in Almaty, and a backup platform for e-Government is to be created in Pavlodar”, R. Yensebayev said.
Currently, the Data Center provides Colocation and Hosting services. Colocation implies placement of government agencies’ hardware and renting the infrastructure. Hosting is a service related to providing capacities for information to be located on the server that is permanently active.
“The main advantage in using our center’s services is the reduction of agencies’ expenditures for building up, equipping, and further modernizing the server premises”, Director of North Kazakhstan Regional IT Center Nariman Shakhmetov says. “Government agencies will not have to perform non-core activities of hardware maintenance. The Data Center’s high-skilled personnel will ensure the server’s continuous operation”, he added.
