February 10, 2015Today, open data seminar took place in National Information Technologies JSC. Foreign experts shared their experience on the use of open government data policy.
The seminar took place in the framework of roundtable discussions on open data and public government, which was organized by the Ministry of investment and development of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Transregional councilor of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs R. Kerby, former deputy chairman on innovations in San-Francisco S. Spanaik, the director of «Open Data 500» American project L. Manly and also representatives from Kazakhstani government agencies participated in the event.
On the seminar, which was conducted in the format of brainstorming, the questions were discussed on open data national strategy for Kazakhstani team of public government development. In the course of the seminar, the presentation on Kazakhstan open data portal data.egov.kz. was demonstrated.
Foreign guests marked the success of open data Kazakhstani portal and gave recommendations on how to attract private sector to the project. According to the experts, open data will help to improve the interaction of private sector with government agencies.
